Leisha Davies

Clinical Psychologist

Even though each person is unique, there are some things we all have in common. We all have the need to be fulfilled in love, in work, and in play or relaxation. I believe, people are capable of healing themselves but sometimes get stuck at various junctures of their lives. My role as a psychologist is to facilitate a better understanding of self so that people can choose to live a freer and more connected life. I find inspiration for my work from science, from art, and from nature. Science; to sort facts and fiction about the body-brain-mind connection. Art, because human expression is beautiful in all its shapes, sizes and colours. And Nature, because of its infinite soothing and energising capacities.

I love this quote by a special doctor who spent his life humbly learning from children and adults and who dedicated himself to helping them find greater fulfilment:

“Feeling real is more than existing; it is finding a way to exist as oneself…and to have a self into which to retreat for relaxation”. Donald Woods Winnicott
